Two "Pumpkin Lights" with a remote control to turn them on and off without having to reach into the lanter. Lamp Pipe 3/8" Dia x 36" Long
$14.78 As of: 09/09/24
This is the "lamp pipe" we used like a long bolt to hold the Halloween Lantern together. It's 3/8" in diameter, 36" long (enough for two lanterns), and has a standard 1/8 IP thread. You will also need a 1/8 IP nut, an "eye nut" and two 3/8" flat washers.

Keda Aniline Dyes (5 Colors)
$19.50 As of: 10/02/24
Five colors of water-based aniline dyes -- black, brown, blue, red, and yellow -- enough to make one quart of each color. This is what we used to color the lantern parts shown in “Making a Halloween Lantern”. You'll also need distilled water and denatured alcohol to mix these up.

Olson Precision Ground Scroll Saw Blades 12 tpi
$4.99 As of: 10/05/24
Six precision-ground scroll saw blades, 12 teeth per inch with the bottom 9 teeth reversed. I've found these to cut reasonably fast and leave a smooth surface in hardwoods and hardwood plywood. These are what I used tp cut the lantern faces shown in “Making a Halloween Lantern”.

Bosch 20 tpi U-shank Jig Saw Blades
$6.85 As of: 10/05/24
Five 3/16" wide by 3-1/4" long jig saw blades with a (fairly) universal U-shank. If you're going to cut the faces in the Halloween Lantern (see “Making a Halloween Lantern”) this is what I recommend. Leaves a very smooth surface and is small enough to create fairly intricate shapes.

Twidec Heavy Duty Foot Switch with piggyback plug
$29.99 As of: 10/05/24
If you plan to make and use the saber saw table I show in “Making a Halloween Lantern”, you're going to need one of these. It will safely turn the saber saw on and off without reaching under the table. This is also handy (and safe) to use with a router table for exactly the same reason.

Jorgensen Bench Plane
$69.00 As of: 07/25/24
This is Jorgensen’s take on a Stanley No. 4 smoothing plane. It is just as well-constructed as an old Stanley and in some aspects, it’s better. For example, the iron is half again thicker. As a result, it cuts smoother with no chatter.

Jorgensen Low-Angle Block Plane
$34.95 As of: 08/27/24
Similar to the iconic Stanley No. 60-1/2, but with two important exceptions. The spoon-shaped cap is easier to remove and adjust. And the iron is half-again thicker than the Stanley’s (and most other comparable block planes), eliminating chatter.
